Tour Description/Daily Itinerary:

A journey down Route 66 is like cutting yourself a slice of All-American Pie. From the shores of Lake Michigan to the surf at Santa Monica, there's nearly an entire country in between. Made famous by its easy to remember moniker, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66", the old highway is the stuff legends are made of.

As you travel along its path (about 60% of the highway still exists, and we'll travel much of it), you'll meet the people of our great land. These are not presidents and kings, they are everyday people. They are folks who live or work along The Mother Road and gain great pleasure in sharing their stories and experiences with others.

You'll dine in some of the finest restaurants and some of the best roadside diners along the route. Visit Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert in Arizona. Walk across the Mississippi River on the historic Chain of Rocks Bridge. Visit the cave where the legendary Jesse James hid out, at Meramac Caverns and learn about the gunslinger at the roadside museum.

See Oklahoma City, one of our country's hidden jewels, a beautiful city in America's Heartland. Learn the story of the Dust Bowl Days and how hundreds of thousands of Mid-Westerners packed up everything they owned and headed west. Now, you can travel in their footsteps across our great land in search of the perfect five-napkin cheeseburger or chicken fried steak. Visit an historic round barn in Arcadia, stop for lunch at the Rock Cafe in Stroud and learn the story of Will Rogers in Claremore...and that's just one day in Oklahoma!

You'll discover people and places you didn't know existed — like the old Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo; the Mediocre Music Makers in Erick, OK; Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in St Louis; The magnificent new Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum in Springfield, IL; the historic El Rancho Hotel in Gallup — the list goes on and on. If you are the type of traveler who enjoys getting off-the-beaten-track, this is your road trip. If you marveled at the musings of Charles Kuralt on TV, this is your tour.

2010 marks our seventh journey on Route 66. You'll be riding on our own SuperCoach III, with extra leg room and a galley on board to offer refreshments and comfort. The pace is leisurely with several multiple night hotel stays.

Your Tour Director will be Sports Leisure owner Mark Hoffmann who is a Route 66 veteran. America is waiting for you on this unigue journey. It's time to get your kicks on Route 66.
