Tour Description/Daily Itinerary:

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive Fairbanks:
Meet your Tour Director this evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the hotel reception area.

Day 2: Fairbanks
Meet your fellow travelers this morning at a breakfast orientation followed by a city and area tour which will include the El Dorado Gold Mine, The Riverboat Discovery Cruise and an evening Salmon Bake at Pioneer Park. (B,D)

Day 3: Fairbanks ~ Denali National Park
This morning board the world famous Alaska Railroad for a    scenic journey from Fairbanks to the untamed wilderness of Denali National Park.  Watch for sheep, moose, caribou and bears. (B,D)


Day 4: Denali to Talkeetna
A free morning to enjoy optional activities at Denali National Park.  Later, travel to Talkeetna, the jumping off point for    climbers attempting the summit 20,320-foot-Mount McKinley.  Time to enjoy optional sightseeing this afternoon. (B)

Day 5: Talkeetna ~ Anchorage ~ Girdwood
This morning you will visit the happy Trails Kennels, the award winning kennels of the 4-times Iditarod champion Martin Buser. Continue to Anchorage to visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center then continue to Alyeska Resort in Girdwood for a two-night stay. (B)


Day 6: Kenai Peninsula Day Trip
Today you travel to the Kenai Peninsula and take a scenic Float Trip on the turquoise waters of the glacier fed Kenai River.  Have your camera ready for sightings of moose, sheep, salmon, beavers and bears.  Return to Girdwood for the night. (B,L)

Day 7: Girdwood ~ Anchorage
After breakfast, travel to Whittier and cruise on Prince William Sound to view 26 “named” glaciers and many unnamed ones.  Come close to towering masses of ice so you can hear the glaciers calving.  Return to Anchorage for a Farewell Dinner hosted by your Tour Director.  (B,L,D)

Day 8: End of Tour
Vacation ends this morning with transfers to the airport for your flights back home.
