Tour Description/Daily Itinerary:

Indescribably magnificent scenery, the abundance and variety of wildlife - land, sea, and in the air and the near mystical aura created by such vast reaches of wild, uninhabited space. Where nature reigns supreme . . . Alaska!


DAY 1 Fly to Anchorage, our home for the night.

DAY 2 Motorcoach to Denali with stops along the way. Enjoy our beautiful surroundings with hopes of seeing Mt. McKinley. Overnight at Denali. Option: Whitewater rafting.

DAY 3 Wildlife search in Denali National Park, learn about wildlife in their natural habitats and surroundings. With the weather permitting, you will see Mt. McKinley. Then, board the McKinley Explorer Dome Train, where you will experience the "railroad adventure of a lifetime." Arrive in Fairbanks, our home for two nights.

DAY 4 Fairbanks: This morning sightseeing by motorcoach. Stop at the Alaskan Pipeline. Explore the University of Alaska Museum of the North to view exhibits on wildlife, gold, northern lights, and more. This afternoon, enjoy the Riverboat Excursion on the Chena and Tanana Rivers aboard the Sternwheeler Discovery. Tonight, we will enjoy a Salmon Bake and the Palace Theatre.

DAY 5 Fairbanks to Anchorage by Air. Time to walk, sightsee, or shop in downtown Anchorage. Then, motorcoach to Whittier along Turnagain Arm to board Carnival Spirit. Our next seven nights are onboard the ship.

DAY 6 At Sea: Cruise Prince William Sound, view the 16 glaciers of College Fjord and Columbia Glacier.

DAY 7 Sitka: See the rich Russian history, feel the vibrant culture of the one time capital of Russian America. Visit the onion domed St. Michael's Cathedral.

DAY 8 Juneau: A stunningly beautiful waterfront city set like a diamond at the edge of the impressive mountains. From the Red Dog Saloon to Mendenhall Glacier, and the Juneau ice fields on our city tour. Many other natural and historic sights are yours to explore in this wonderful old mining town. See the State Capital, Alaska State Historical Center, or shop.

DAY 9 Skagway: Start of the Yukon Gold Rush. A large part of this town has actually been declared a National Historic Park. Enjoy a free city tour with Park Ranger. Option: Helicopter Glacier Flight.

DAY 10 Ketchikan: You'll discover things that excite the eye and the imagination everywhere you turn. View the world's largest collection of colorful totem poles. See Creek Street, the picturesque city's long ago, but not forgotten red light district, now transformed from ill repute into reputable shops, galleries, and museums. Option: Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour.

DAY 11 At sea: Today is our last day of cruising the Inside Passage, take more pictures, walk the decks, watch for wildlife of the sea, or sit and relax.

DAY 12 Fly from Vancouver. Arrive Home.
